Simbithi Project Update: Renovations Underway & A Few Tips From Me
I’m so excited to share a little update from my Simbithi project, which is currently very much in the renovation phase — dusty, busy, slightly chaotic, but finally starting to come together in a really exciting way.
In this walkthrough, I take you through the house and show where we’re at right now. It’s still very much a work in progress, but this is always one of the most rewarding stages for me — when you can start to see past the building mess and the design vision begins to take shape. The layout starts making more sense, the finishes begin coming together, and you get that first real glimpse of what the home is going to become.
What I love about this stage is that it reminds people that beautiful interiors don’t happen overnight. There’s a lot of planning, decision-making and problem-solving behind the scenes, and renovations almost always look worse before they look better. That’s completely normal.
I also share a few renovation tips in the video for anyone tackling a project of their own. One of the biggest things I always say is to think about everything as a whole rather than making decisions in isolation. Your flooring, cabinetry, wall colours, lighting and furniture all need to speak to each other to create a home that feels cohesive.
Another big one is planning properly from the beginning. Good sequencing can make a huge difference to the flow of a renovation and can save a lot of time, money and stress down the line.
I can’t wait to share more as it all comes together.
